It is organised by the Universal Love association (Free Markets since 1995). More than a trade show, ETHICAL FASHION SHOW® seeks to be a unifying event where the fashion industries’ various players meet. There are 3 main objectives: - Promote ethical fashion designers - Foster dialogue and the exchange of information between companies concerned by fair trade and sustainable development in the fashion industry - Be an information base for all parties concerned. The New Consumer Demand: Is It Ethical? The social and environmental conditions in which products are manufactured are important to the consumer who buys them. The increase in Fair Trade purchases reflects the evolving buying habits of a growing part of the population. The number of buyers and sales figures of products sold through fair trade are constantly growing. Awareness of fair trade is steadily increasing: In 2000, 9% of French people had heard of fair trade; In 2003 they were 45% (source:CREDOC/IPSOS). We have noticed that consumers increasingly request major social roles and moral responsibility from companies they do business with. The relationship between companies, public services, local communities and consumers is more and more influenced by ethics.
Ethical Fashion: Solidarity Through Fashion The fashion presented at ETHICAL FASHION SHOW® is based on solidarity and is dedicated to fostering development. It is a trend-setting fashion, respectful of people and the environment. Today all fashion is concerned with this phenomenon. From the haute-couture world to streetwear, every trend benefits from the influence of ethical fashion.
