Bamboo is more absorbent than cotton and has anti-bacterial properties, which also helps to keep the wash cloth fresh, in contrast to synthetic alternatives. This cloth is machine washable. Bamboo is the fastest growing grass in the world, without the need for pesticides or fertilisers, yielding up to 60 tonnes of fibre per hectare compared to 1-2 for cotton. Cut and then grows back naturally, unlike many other crops which remove the entire plant and then need to be ploughed and replanted releasing CO2 into the atmosphere. This is good for soil stability and which also makes it sustainable. A versatile crop and resource, adaptable to diverse climates.
